Who has never experienced this frustrating feeling of not being able to post his photos during his morning subway journey? Or do a survey of what our friends posted during our absence? After its recent Carousel option, Instagram continues to expand and enhance its features. It seems that the social network is testing an offline mode. A part of the application would therefore become searchable without a network.
The tests would be underway in countries with a weak connection, as reported by Mashable. On a Facebook site, dedicated to F8 developers’ conferences, one can read an article entitled “Building Offline Experiences for Instagram”. This article indicates that speakers would like to discuss and think about how to use the social network without having a connection. Everything remains to be defined, and it will be necessary above all to implement all this machine: we will know more about this update after the conference F8.
Instagram will offer 20 minutes of offline browsing and this is in line with Facebook’s desire to make the Internet accessible to as many people as possible, especially those with limited connection. Recently, Facebook has made sure to optimize access to their social network from reduced connections (2G) with the launch of Facebook Lite. There are already 200 million users for this Android application.
For the time being, Instagram has always kept its promises: Boomerang integration, direct messages, multiple photo slideshow with Carousel, draft mode, stories, mentions in stories, live and recently, Record their lives after the broadcast … We are however looking forward to a programming tool integrated into the application, which would be saving for all media and influencers.
